Mint Cake - Mapping air pollution in homegrown plants

Help us measure Newcastle's air-quality by growing a plant in your home

MintCake is a research project on air quality and environmental sustainability in Newcastle. Plants can absorb air pollution and in our project we aim to measure and map air quality in the city with food grown at home. We are interested in how air pollution varies with location and how this affects the food that we grow in different places.

The Urban Observatory is providing air quality monitoring co-located with some of the participants to provide a baseline for comparison.
