Managing Urban Air Quality

The Urban Observatory is providing key infrastructure (in the form of air quality monitoring “motes” the blue circles on the maps) and data services to support the AQATANE project. This is a DfT funded Local Air Quality Challenge project and is a collaboration between Newcastle City Council, Newcastle University and Amey to analyse urban air quality in real time, identify pollution hotspots and recommend and potentially implement mitigation strategies to reduce the impact traffic has on air quality within an urban area
